Classic Martingale collar is a popular training collar for many dog owners. With the 5 adjusting holes on our Belt Buckle Martingale collar is designed to allow maximum adjustability. Should your pup gain or loose weight or if you use it for training purpose and prefer a loser or tighter fit , simply shift to the desired adjusting holes along the strap to get a looser or tighter fit for your pup’s neck. Our stainless steel (available in gold & gun-metal) / brass (available in rose gold) will constrict & relax smoothly when leash pressure is applied and released accordingly. When worn correctly for training, the collar will tighten when the dog pull on the leash. The ability to tighten quickly, thereby keeping it in place and also at the same time comfortably making the martingale collar an effective training tool and safety feature for dogs.

This will be perfect for all your walkie adventure, be it hiking the muddy trail, climbing summit or splashing into the sea. The durability and practicality of this collection is superb. Disclaimer:
For safety, martingale collars should not be left on dogs all the time. if the collar were to get caught on something, it could constrict around your dog’s neck, causing him to freak out and potentially leading to injury. For safety’s sake, just use martingale collars during walks. Your pup should always be supervised while wearing martingale collars.

Sizing

How to measure your pup:
Measure your dog in standing position. Use a measuring tape and snug around your pup’s neck. The measuring tape should be where you want the collar to sit or where the collar normally sit.

• For short-fur breed (eg: beagle, frenchie), leave room for your pinkie finger between the tape and your pup’s neck.
• For fluffy dogs (eg: pomsky, sheltie), should be measured against their skin to get the best fit. (measure without finger gap) This is your pup’s neck size in cm. Note this measurement in cm down.
• IMPORTANT: Do not measure your existing collars for sizing.

5 Adjusting holes:

• Holes are 1.5cm apart
• Measured correctly, the collar will fit in between the 1st hole (tightest) to the 3rd hole (middle), depending how tight or loose you would like the collar to normally sit on your pet's neck.
• If there is no space constraints, extra holes are available upon request. (Please indicate in Notes)
• 23cm-26cm sizing will only have 3 adjustment holes. This size can also fit smaller necks from 20cm-24cm; however, the chain might be loose & dangling when worn.

Name personalization on smaller collar:
Please note that due to space constraints, and long names, especially on a smaller collar (size: 23cm-26cm), we will make the font size & icons smaller. Only proceed if you can accept this. By default, all personalized name heights will be 9mm or above.

Martingale Collar Sizing:
After you have measured your dog's neck in cm based on the instructions given. When worn correctly around a, say, 30cm neck measurement, this 30cm neck measurement will also be the entire inner circumference of the collar with the chain stretched out to the max. This allows the chain to constrict and tighten to semi-choke your dog if you need to correct your dog's pulls on the leash. This also means that when worn correctly around your dog's neck, the chain should not be dangling when relaxed. The two O-rings on the chain attached to the collar should not touch each other and should always have a 2-5cm gap based on the size and breed of the dog. Please note that the length of the metal chain is 9cm and is fixed.

Note: The correct measurement of the neck is of great importance. The neck circumference determined by you is the decisive value for us. For example, if your dog has a fluffy coat or a particularly small/large head, you prefer the collar as close to the neck as possible, or particularly loosely, etc., this is all information that you should be happy to share with us. You can write these and other special features and comments in the comment field at the end of the order so that the customized product corresponds exactly to your wishes.

Webbing:

• Made with 16mm width standard Beta BioThane® with a break strength of about 280kg
• 100% waterproof
• Will not stretch, super durable and abrasion resistant
• Winterproof and holds its flexibility in very cold weather. Will not crack at a freezing temperature.
• Moldproof, cleanable, stinkproof and hygienic
• Low maintenance - easy to clean and disinfect, does not require typical leather care
• Under normal use, BioThane® will last a very long time

Brass Hardware:
We love solid brass because it is:

• Highly durable, brass will hold up to the challenge when used on products that are meant to carry weight. This means you can count on your brass hardware to last
• Will not rust, resistant to corrosion. Making this the best and strongest metal for use in saltwater
• Compared to Zinc alloy, Brass is a stretchier, more malleable metal, making it much more resistant to cracking under pressure and, once again, contributing to its long-lasting nature.
• Brass will naturally tarnish (this is not rust) over time when exposed to elements like air and water, but this does not affect the strength and durability of the metal.

Martingale Chains Material (Please note that the length of the metal chain is 9cm and is fixed):
Our Gold Stainless Steel is Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coated. This means that it is highly durable, long lasting, scratch resistant than normal electroplated hardware. Due to the nature of PVD coating and welding of the chains and rings, minor surface imperfections spots without gold coating will still be visible. Over time due to wear & tear, the gold coating may fade and reveal the silver stainless steel underneath.

Our Rose Gold Brass is Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coated. This means that it is highly durable, long lasting, scratch resistant than normal electroplated hardware. Due to the nature of PVD coating and welding of the chains and rings, minor surface imperfections spots without rose gold coating will still be visible. Over time due to wear & tear, the rose gold coating may lose its luster and reveal the brass metal underneath.

Our Gunmetal Black stainless steel is Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coated. This means that it is highly durable, long lasting, scratch resistant than normal electroplated hardware. Due to the nature of PVD coating and welding of the chains and rings, minor surface imperfections spots without gunmetal will still be visible. Over time due to wear & tear, the gunmetal coating may fade and reveal the silver stainless steel underneath.

Disclaimer

Name Personalisation Disclaimer:

• A slight sheen may be present on certain areas of the strap surface after name personalization. This is more noticeable on darker straps (such as Black, Navy Blue, Mocha, Forest Green) than lighter straps.
• Please be more gentle when cleaning the Name personalization area. Do not scrub or rub vigorously. Doing so may cause the name print to peel off. To clean off the dirt, gently rinse over water and rub gently with your finger.
